How an appointment works

The session is scheduled to last 1.5 hours. In practice, it usually ends up taking 2 hours, sometimes 3. No one is asked to leave when the time is up.

The appointment begins with a conversation. We ask what you’d like the chair to do: neck, back, feet? Are you looking for relaxation in the evening or a vigorous massage after a workout? We also ask if you’re familiar with massage—whether from Thai massage or physical therapy—and how you came to be interested in massage chairs in the first place. Often, it was one at the airport, in a hotel, at a shopping center, or in a friend’s living room.

Next, the measurements: height, girth, shoe size. That sounds like shopping for clothes, but it determines whether the casters will line up with your shoulders or miss by two fingers. Then there’s the question that surprises many: Who else will be sitting in it later? If your partner is 20 centimeters shorter or your son is 2 meters tall, the armchair has to accommodate both.

The first two chairs help you decide: more wellness-oriented or more athletic. From there on, the selection narrows down.

After the seventh chair, no one notices the difference anymore.

Why only 5 to 9 armchairs?

There are significantly more armchairs in the showroom than you’ll be able to try out during your appointment. You’re welcome to look at and touch the others. You’ll try out the 5 to 9 that remain after your consultation.

Each model takes 5 to 20 minutes before you can feel what it does. After 8 or 9 chairs, your senses are saturated, and everything starts to feel the same. Trying out more won't do you any good.

If, in the end, it comes down to how it feels: that’s exactly right. We actually recommend it. Because what matters is how often you use it—ideally every day or several times a week. And people rarely sit in an armchair that feels uncomfortable. The technically superior model then ends up sitting unused in the living room.

What to Wear

Soft fabrics without any stiff parts: cotton, linen, thin jersey.

Leave anything at home that’s tight or restrictive: jeans with studs, wide belts with large buckles, and thick knit sweaters. Hoodies are also off-limits—the hood sits right where the rollers work on the back of the neck. Don’t wear shoes; the foot massage is designed for the sole of the foot, not a heel.

Otherwise, you don't need to bring anything.

Who's coming along

Most people come in pairs, but entire families are just as welcome. If someone else will be using the chair later, it's best for them to try it out for themselves first. Coffee, tea, and cold drinks are available.

What Happens After the Appointment

If you've found your favorite armchair but aren't ready to make a decision yet, we'll send you a quote by email. After that, we'll follow up exactly once, also by email. If you'd rather talk on the phone, just let us know, and we'll give you a call.

And then you decide—whether you want to relax or not.
