Our Vision and Mission

Who We Are and What We Stand For

Massagesessel Welt was founded in 2020 by Manuela Radu and Michael Roedeske and now has seven galleries in Germany. The founding couple has grown into a team that provides consultation both online and at the galleries .

Our philosophy can be summed up in one sentence: There isn’t just one best chair—there are many best ones. Which one is right for you depends on your height, your physical issues, and where your pelvis sits in the chair. You won’t find that on any product spec sheet.

That’s why we carry 13 brands side by side and provide brand-neutral advice. Anyone who calls us won’t receive a recommendation based on profit margins, but rather advice tailored to their body type and budget. Even if the answer is that it’s not worth buying right now.

For more information, see " About Us."

The team now includes specialist consultants at all locations, our own delivery service, and a service and repair center in Remshalden. We handle deliveries, installation, and repairs ourselves, rather than outsourcing them to third parties.

Since when has the " Massagesessel Welt" been around?

Massagesessel Welt was founded in 2020 in Weinstadt, near Stuttgart, by Manuela Radu and Michael Roedeske. Since then, what began as a single location has grown into seven exhibition spaces in Germany.

It all started with a simple observation: Massage chairs are sold online almost everywhere without anyone having sat in them first. Whether a chair is a good fit, however, depends on your height and pelvic position—and you can only tell that once you’re sitting in it. That’s why every model is set up in our store.

Today, we bring together 13 brands under one roof and provide brand-neutral advice because they all coexist side by side. In addition, we have our own manufacturing facility in Germany— Allgäuer Massagetechnik .

You can find out more about us under "About Us," and on our YouTube channel, we show the technology in detail.

What started as a single location in Weinstadt has grown into seven exhibitions, stretching from Hamburg to Bad Säckingen. Over 400 Google reviews, averaging 4.9 stars, say more about the years in between than any self-description ever could.

General Information

Where is your central warehouse?

Our central warehouse is located in Remshalden-Geradstetten near Stuttgart, at Rathausstraße 39; the entrance is on Kelterwiesenbach via the BAKA gate. From there, the armchairs are shipped throughout Germany.

The fact that we stock items ourselves, rather than ordering each piece of furniture directly from the manufacturer, is the reason for our short delivery times: The chair will usually be delivered to you within three to five business days. For models that we have to reorder from Asia, it takes a little longer; we’ll let you know this before you place your order.

The warehouse is not a showroom. If you'd like to try out some armchairs, please visit one of our seven showrooms. The one closest to the warehouse is in Remshalden itself.

You can reach us at +49 7151 205 259 95.

Pickup is available by arrangement. Please keep in mind that a packaged massage chair weighs between 100 and 150 kilograms, depending on the model, and will not fit in a station wagon. If you’re picking it up yourself, you’ll need a van and a second person.

Where is your service and repair center?

Our service and repair center is located in Remshalden-Geradstetten near Stuttgart, at Wilhelm-Enßle-Straße 56. The technicians fromMassagesessel Welt and Allgäuer Massagetechnik work there.

In most cases, you don't even need to go there. If a warranty claim arises, we'll send a technician to your home with the replacement part instead of picking up the chair. The center is the repair shop behind the scenes: This is where the replacement parts are stored, and where we repair appliances that can't be fixed on-site.

The best way to report a defect is by phone at +49 7151 205 259 98 or via WhatsApp at +49 176 301 564 21. Please have the model name and serial number ready; you’ll find them on the sticker on the back. Most issues can be resolved right over the phone.

We also order replacement parts for appliances you didn't purchase from us, as long as the manufacturer still supplies them. For discontinued brands, we'll be upfront with you if parts are no longer available, rather than making you wait for a repair that won't happen.

Consultation and Ordering

Has Stiftung Warentest conducted a massage chair test?

No. Stiftung Warentest has not tested any massage chairs to date. There is no ranking, no rating, and no seal of approval from them. Anyone advertising with such a “test winner” logo has obtained it from somewhere else.

What we do have are individual reviews in magazines and on websites. Most of them are written from a desk, without anyone having actually sat in the chair. And that’s exactly where the problem lies: Whether a chair is right for you depends on your height and the position of your pelvis. Your body figures that out within the first two minutes, and no review score can do that for you.

You can find detailed information in the guide: “Massage Chair Review and Top Picks.” If you’d like to try them out for yourself, the chairs are on display at our showrooms.

As of:

Where can I try out a massage chair?

At 7 locations: Bad Säckingen, Dresden (Hainichen), Frankfurt (Dreieich), Hamburg (Heede), Leverkusen, Mannheim, and Stuttgart (Remshalden). The chairs are set up and ready to go at every location; you take a seat in turn.

In Bad Säckingen and Frankfurt, you can come in without an appointment. In Dresden, Hamburg, Leverkusen, Mannheim, and Stuttgart, visits are by appointment only, to ensure that someone will actually have time for you.

You can find a list of addresses and hours of operation under "Exhibitions." The location pages list which massage chairs are available at each location. For more details on the process: Where can I try out and buy your massage chairs?

As of:

Can I pay in Swiss francs or U.S. dollars?

Yes. In addition to euros, we accept payments in Swiss francs and U.S. dollars into our own foreign currency accounts. This saves you the trouble of exchanging currency, and your bank will not charge a currency conversion fee on the transfer amount.

For Swiss customers, this is the standard procedure: The payment is made to our account at PostFinance in Switzerland—that is, within the country. The same applies to payments in U.S. dollars.

We set the exchange rate when issuing the invoice and maintain it for the payment period. This way, you know exactly in advance how much you need to pay.

The appropriate account information can be found under Bank Information. If you're making a payment from abroad, please feel free to contact us in advance so we can clarify the exchange rate and amount together.

You can also pay by bank transfer, credit card, PayPal, or financing. If you pick up your order, you can also pay in person.

For corporate customers from abroad, we will issue an invoice without sales tax upon request, provided a valid sales tax identification number is provided.

As of:

Do you offer financing?

Yes, for individual customers, the effective annual interest rate is 0% for terms of up to 24 months, with no fees. So there are no additional costs: You pay in installments exactly the same amount you would pay if you paid in full.

Here's an example. For an armchair costing 4,800 euros with a 24-month term, that comes out to 200 euros per month. If you choose a shorter term, you'll pay more each month, but you won't end up paying more overall.

This offer is valid for the German market. You can submit your application during the ordering process or in advance through us; approval is usually granted the same day. For business customers, there are different options available, including leasing.

All terms and conditions can be found under "Financing and Installment Purchases." Please send any questions to finanzierung@massagesesselwelt.de.

You must be a resident of Germany, have a German bank account, and pass a credit check. We do not require a down payment. If you’d like to pay for the armchair in full ahead of schedule, you can do so at any time at no additional cost.

Delivery and Assembly

Can I pick up and set up the massage chair myself?

Yes, by prior arrangement, you can pick up your order at the central warehouse in Remshalden-Geradstetten. However, don’t underestimate either the weight or the dimensions: A packaged massage chair weighs between 100 and 150 kilograms, depending on the model, and won’t fit in a station wagon.

You'll need a van and at least one other person. The same applies to getting the package into the apartment: Carrying a package like that up a flight of stairs with just two people is a struggle, and tight turns in the hallway quickly become a problem.

You can assemble the chair yourself. Depending on the model, you’ll need to attach the backrest, footrest, and armrests, and connect the power cord; illustrated instructions are included.

Most customers still choose the premium delivery option. With this option, we bring the armchair into the room of your choice, assemble it, and take the packaging with us.

Please schedule a pickup at least two business days in advance so that the chair will be ready. Check the dimensions of your vehicle beforehand: Depending on the model, the boxes are up to 1.40 meters long.

As of:

Will the massage chair be set up at my home?

With our Premium Delivery service, yes: Our team will bring the armchair into the room where it’s supposed to go, set it up, show you how to use it, and take the packaging with them when they leave. You don’t have to carry anything or dispose of anything.

Setup takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the model. Afterward, we’ll show you the programs, adjust the chair to your height, and answer any questions you may have when you first sit in it.

Alternatively, standard delivery is available to the curb. In that case, you are responsible for transporting the item further and, depending on the model, for final assembly and electrical connection yourself. You will receive illustrated instructions for this purpose.

Before delivery, check the width of doorways, stairs, and turns in the hallway. A massage chair is about 80 centimeters wide; the narrowest spot along the route is what matters, not the space at the end.

You should decide in advance where you want to place the chair. Once assembled, the unit weighs between 90 and 130 kilograms and is nearly impossible to move on your own. Make sure there’s an outlet within reach, and keep in mind that the backrest needs about ten centimeters of space behind it when you recline.

As of:

What is the "White Glove" service?

That’s the name of our premium delivery service: We bring the armchair into the room of your choice, assemble it, show you how to use it, and take the packaging with us. The name comes from the English term “White Glove Service” and means that a piece of furniture is not simply left at your front door.

Specifically, this means: Two technicians will carry the chair to its designated spot, even up stairs. They will position it, plug it in, run through the programs once, and adjust the basic settings to your height. Cardboard boxes, plastic wrap, and styrofoam will be taken away.

It’s especially worth getting a demonstration when you first get a massage chair. Most models have more than 20 programs, and the manual doesn’t say which one is best for your back.

The alternative is standard delivery to the curb.

We’ll coordinate the appointment with you in advance by phone, usually within a two-hour time frame. When you make your purchase, please let us know if there are narrow stairwells, a lift with specific dimensions, or difficult access. That way, we can plan accordingly instead of being caught off guard when we arrive.

As of:

Which countries do you ship to?

We ship our entire product line to Germany, and a large portion of it to Austria and Switzerland. Depending on the brand and model, we can also ship to Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, France, the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy.

The reason not every brand can be shipped everywhere is due to territorial agreements with the manufacturers. Some manufacturers assign distribution on a country-by-country basis; we adhere to these agreements rather than selling you something for which no one will provide service later on.

Therefore, please check with us before placing your order if you live outside Germany. We will then let you know which models are available in your country and what delivery terms apply.

The warranty coverage applies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Luxembourg. Our on-site service team will come to you within this area.

Shipping costs depend on the destination country and the model. Within Germany, premium shipping is already included in the price for most armchairs; for other countries, we’ll provide you with the shipping cost before you place your order, not just in the shopping cart.

As of:

What happens after I place my order?

You will first receive an order confirmation, and then we will contact you to schedule a delivery date. Armchairs from our own warehouse are usually delivered to you within three to five business days.

Here’s how it works: We’ll check availability and get back to you as soon as the chair is ready to ship. Together, we’ll set a delivery date, usually with a two-hour time window. On the day of delivery, the team will call you in advance.

With Premium Delivery, two technicians will bring the armchair into the room of your choice, assemble it, show you how to use it, and take the packaging with them. Expect the process to take 30 to 60 minutes on site.

If a model needs to be reordered, we'll let you know the delivery date before you make your purchase. We'd rather give you an honest date than one that's too good to be true.

You will receive your invoice by email. If you are financing your purchase, the credit check will be conducted at the same time so that delivery is not delayed.

Warranty, Service, and Maintenance

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. We offer private customers a 5-year warranty on our massage chairs, including on-site service. The only exception is the OSIM uThrone, which comes with a 2-year warranty. Business customers receive a warranty of 1 to 3 years, depending on the product. The warranty period begins on the delivery date.

"On-site" means that if a warranty claim arises, a technician will come to your home with the replacement part in hand. You don't have to pack up the chair and send it anywhere. With a piece of furniture weighing 90 to 130 kilograms, that's the real difference.

The warranty covers material and manufacturing defects as well as functionality. If a defect occurs, we will repair the device or replace it with an equivalent one. Geographically, the warranty applies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Luxembourg. Your statutory rights regarding defects remain unaffected; the warranty is in addition to those rights.

All details can be found in the warranty terms.

How do I care for my massage chair?

Three surfaces require different care: the upholstery, the plastic, and the control panel. With the right care, an armchair will last significantly longer, because most visible signs of wear and tear occur on the surface, not in the mechanical parts.

The upholstery is usually made of synthetic or genuine leather. First, vacuum up crumbs and lint, especially in the seams and in the gap between the seats. Then wipe the surface with a slightly damp cloth. For genuine leather, we recommend applying leather conditioner twice a year.

The plastic parts on the outside and on the calves and feet can be cleaned with a microfiber cloth and a little glass cleaner. Avoid using cleaners that contain alcohol, as they will eventually make the surface dull and brittle.

Wipe down the control panel only with a nearly dry cloth. Moisture that seeps into the buttons is the most common preventable malfunction.

When choosing a location, avoid direct sunlight. Direct sunlight causes faux leather to fade and become cracked over time. A distance of ten centimeters from the wall is necessary anyway, because the backrest needs space when the chair is pushed back.

You can find the products we use ourselves under " Cleaning and Care."

As of:

What does "on-site warranty" mean?

Our on-site warranty means that our technician comes to you instead of you having to send the chair in. You contact us by phone or email, we work with you to pinpoint the problem, and if a repair is necessary, our own service staff will come to your location.

You don’t realize why this matters until an emergency arises. A massage chair weighs between 90 and 130 kilograms and won’t fit in a standard package. Without on-site service, you’d have to hire a shipping company, return the chair in its original packaging, and wait weeks for it to be returned.

We operate our own service and repair center in Remshalden, and in the event of a warranty claim, we dispatch a technician with the appropriate replacement part. A large number of cases can be resolved over the phone, since many malfunctions are caused by operator error or loose connections.

Please call +49 7151 205 259 95, daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

For details on what is covered, including time limits and exceptions, please refer to our warranty terms.

Technology and Application

What should I wear in the massage chair?

It's best to wear light, soft clothing without any stiff parts: cotton, linen, or a thin jersey. The less fabric there is between you and the rollers, the more accurately they work.

Thick sweaters, jeans with studs, and belt buckles noticeably dampen the massage. During a neck massage, you’ll immediately notice the difference between a T-shirt and a hoodie: The hood is right where the rollers are supposed to be.

Before sitting down, take your keys, phone, and wallet out of your pockets. Otherwise, they’ll dig into you uncomfortably, and they can damage the seat cushion. It’s best to remove necklaces, earrings, and watches, especially during neck and arm exercises.

Leave your shoes outside. The foot massager uses air cushions and rollers that are positioned on the sole of the foot, not on the heel.

You don't need to bring anything with you to try out the chairs in our showrooms. Just come as you are; the only time it's worth taking off your coat beforehand is if it's a very thick winter coat—otherwise, you won't really be able to feel the chair.

As of:

How do I get into a massage chair the right way?

Sit in the center of the seat with your back all the way against the backrest before you start a program. The body scan uses this position to measure where your shoulders are; if you adjust your position afterward, the rollers will be misaligned.

Please remove your shoes. The foot massager uses rollers and air cushions that are arranged on the sole of the foot. Heels can also damage the padding.

Get into the chair while it is in an upright position, not when the recliner is fully extended. The mechanism under the seat needs room, and a chair that is only partially extended is more likely to tip over when you sit down.

Put your legs on the footrest, your arms in the armrests, and only then start the massage. If you leave your arms outside the armrests, you’ll not only miss out on the hand massage, but you’ll also alter the shoulder position that the chair uses as a reference point.

When getting out, follow the same steps in reverse order: first let the chair fully return to an upright position, then stand up. If you force yourself up from the reclined position, you put unnecessary strain on the mechanism and your own back.

You'll figure it out in two minutes while sitting down. Where you can try it out: our 7 exhibitions.

What are the benefits of a massage chair?

The practical advantage is convenience: a massage at home, without having to make an appointment or travel, as often as you like. A massage at a therapist’s office costs 60 to 120 euros and often has to be booked weeks in advance.

This brings us to the second point: regularity. Anyone who schedules an appointment every six weeks is working to counteract tension that has long since built up again in the meantime. Twenty minutes in the evening is quite different from one hour every quarter.

On top of that, there’s the time saved: no commute, no waiting, no changing clothes. And the freedom from having to stick to opening hours, which is especially important for shift workers.

To be clear: A massage chair is no substitute for physical therapy or medical treatment. It complements them. Anyone with a medical diagnosis should consult their doctor first, especially in cases of herniated discs, osteoporosis, recent injuries, or during pregnancy.

Your body—not the program—decides how firm a massage should be. Start with a low intensity and only increase it once your back has gotten used to it.

You can find detailed information about which model is right for your body in our guide, “Is a Massage Chair Worth It? 7 Tips for Making the Right Choice.”
